I am Humbled by Your Support

I started doing a little door-to-door campaigning today. I only went to about twenty homes. As usual, about half the people were not home, and about half the people answered the door.

Of the half that answered, at four or five homes I was greeted by a homeowner who said “I know you. I voted for you in the primary!” I was shocked and humbled to hear these words from people I had never met. It really surprised me and embarrassed me at the same time.

Once again, I am humbled by the fact that someone would place their trust in me to represent their interests. The words “We voted for you” have strengthend my resolve to do the very best I can to respresent the city if I am elected in November. Thanks again to all my supporters and to all who voted for me. We may not always agree about an issue, but I promise to treat everyone fairly, consider all positions, and never let special interests guide my decisions.

Words of Wisdom

I thought it might be interesting to have an article with some historical quotations that I consider relevant to the November election. I will update it from time to time as I am made aware of more words of wisdom.

  • Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Meade
  • First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. - Mohandas Ghandi
