I am Humbled by Your Support
I started doing a little door-to-door campaigning today. I only went to about twenty homes. As usual, about half the people were not home, and about half the people answered the door.
Of the half that answered, at four or five homes I was greeted by a homeowner who said “I know you. I voted for you in the primary!†I was shocked and humbled to hear these words from people I had never met. It really surprised me and embarrassed me at the same time.
Once again, I am humbled by the fact that someone would place their trust in me to represent their interests. The words “We voted for you†have strengthend my resolve to do the very best I can to respresent the city if I am elected in November. Thanks again to all my supporters and to all who voted for me. We may not always agree about an issue, but I promise to treat everyone fairly, consider all positions, and never let special interests guide my decisions.
